Mythweave
Stories woven together, open to all
Open Lore
Since the first fires were lit in the dark, stories have belonged to the many. Around the hearth, in the marketplace, on the roads, voices carried tales of gods and heroes, of horrors and wonders and the vast unknown. Inspired by this primal heritage of collective mythmaking, Mythweave seeks to carry this spirit onward into new forms.
Mythweave is an initiative to create living fictional universes that anyone can explore, adapt, expand, and use.
Starting with our two flagship settings, our desire is to offer artists and developers free, high-quality, cohesive material they can draw from for games, short stories, films or any creative work that calls for a storyworld — and to inspire a community to take part in shaping it.
-
- All Mythweave material is released under a permissive license, granting everyone the right to use it freely for any personal or commercial project.
-
- You may modify, transform or extend Mythweave material, and are invited to submit your content in any form, be it prose, illustrations, maps, music, or beyond, to be featured in our media.
-
- Contributions in the form of stories, characters, locations or any bit of lore in any of the Mythweave settings may become an official part of it.
-
- Mythweave is just as much about community as it is about creating fiction, and you're welcome as a part of it whether you wish to become a contributor or just watch the stories unfold.

Encounter Mythweave's Universes

The Omyran Codex
Human kingdoms and strange nations forged and reshaped by might, intrigue and divine strife; uncharted lands inhabited by creatures of legend, pervaded by immemorial peril. An age touched by the remote mysteries of magic, and by echoes of the ancient power of civilizations long lost.

Split Horizon
At the edge of charted space, starships uncover cosmic secrets and colonies rise on improbable worlds. While on Earth, as unseen hands seek to control the boundaries of knowledge, what lies beyond the neon skyglow of the megacities remains only as speculation and diffuse rumor. Yet through subnetworks and dark alleys, truth still leaks.
